Vitamin Retailer’s 2023 Best New Products

For the 16th consecutive year, Vitamin Retailer, with the guidance of a retailer panel, assembled the year’s best new natural products.

Since 2007, Vitamin Retailer (VR) magazine editors sift through and discuss the hundreds of products they’ve seen throughout the year to come up with a list of Best New Product candidates. The editors then ask a pool of natural product retailers to weigh in on the list and offer additional items for consideration of what they perceive as unique, innovative, high quality and filling a need. Based on this feedback, the editors compile a shortlist of the year’s outstanding new products.

The editorial staff would like to extend its sincerest thanks to not only the retailers who assisted, but also to the manufacturers of the featured products. In no particular order, VR presents the top 15 best new products of 2023!

Biosil Healthy Aging by Bio Minerals NV

Belgium-based Bio Minerals NV released Biosil Healthy Aging, a clinically proven, collagen-generating dose of ch-OSA as the original Biosil, but boosted with selenium to protect against collagen loss, the company said.

According to Bio Minerals, the body is about 5 to 7 percent collagen and must product around one pound of collagen every five days. Biosil’s ch-OSA activates the key enzymes needed for new collagen production. It also prevents collagen from being damaged by homocysteine and cortisol, according to the company.

Biosil Healthy Aging contains selenium, which is a strong enzyme generator. It is used to form 25 selenoproteins, which are enzymes with powerful antioxidant properties to protect against damaging free radical oxygen and nitrogen species (RONS). Some even protect against glycation and advanced glycation end products (AGEs), the company stated.

Ginger has a long tradition for its use in digestive discomfort including nausea, indigestion, gas, bloating and motion discomfort.* Vitamin B6 supports digestion and mood in addition to nausea relief.* The product is vegan, dairy free, gluten free, non-GMO (genetically modified organism), and soy free.

NutraBio (Middlesex, NJ) released EndurElite Hydrate Elite, which is designed for endurance athletes. Whether out cycling or running an obstacle course, Hydrate Elite Stick Packs will help conquer it, the company said.

EndurElite contains key electrolytes, coconut water powder, Himalayan sea salt and vitamins to help hydrate the body, regulate fluid balance and replace sodium lost in sweat, according to NutraBio. It provides rapid hydration, replenishes electrolytes, improves athletic endurance and reduce muscle cramping.

Andrographis EP80 with Umckaloabo by Terry Naturally/EuroPharma (Green Bay, WI) features two botanicals, andrographis (Andrographis paniculata) and umckaloabo (Pelargonium sidoides), to deliver serious immune and respiratory support.

Andrographis is a standardized extract that provides a minimum 80 mg of andrographolides per dose and umckaloabo is standardized to 0.3 percent umckalin and 12.5 percent polyphenols, EuroPharma said.

According to Green Acres Health Food Store (Piscataway, NJ), the Rad Rosemary + Salt is a favorite flavor of the popular Popadelics Crunchy Mushroom Chips with their customers.

CV Sciences Inc. (San Diego, CA) is the manufacturer of the +PlusCBD line. One of the company’s newest products is the Relief Softgels, designed to promote a healthy inflammatory response ad fast and effective relief from soreness.*
