Azelis and Green Bioactives collaborate to distribute memory ingredient

GBL-Memory1 was first introduced in the UK in Q4 of this year. This patented ingredient complex combines 200mg of Fructooligosaccharides with 400mg of L-theanine, designed to enhance cognitive function, particularly memory.

Chris Meaney, Chief Business Officer at Green Bioactives, explains that expanding the distribution of GBL-Memory1 to Spain and Portugal will complete their reach across various European markets.

Green Bioactives’ venture into nutraceuticals with GBL-Memory1 was a response to the increasing demand for cognitive support solutions, as consumers strive to maintain healthy memory. Their exploration of combining prebiotic Fructooligosaccharides with L-theanine led to the creation of GBL-Memory1.

Past studies have shown L-Theanine’s ability to enhance attention, working memory, and executive functions. Additionally, research has highlighted the brain health benefits of prebiotics through the gut-brain axis.

Green Bioactives’ promising clinical study on GBL-Memory1’s memory benefits is set to be published soon. The complex is adaptable for capsule, tablet, powder, and beverage formulations, with various pack sizes and private label options available.

Looking ahead, distribution of GBL-Memory1 in North America is the next target for Green Bioactives.

Biotech plants

Green Bioactives utilizes Plant Cell Culture Technology to produce plant-based ingredients naturally and sustainably. By cultivating plant vascular stem cells, the company can generate target bioactive molecules that may be challenging to obtain otherwise.

The technology allows for increased yields of up to 50 times, enhancing the concentration and purity of the desired bioactive molecules. Green Bioactives’ portfolio features ingredients for topical skin care products like GBL-Skin Liquorice and GBL-Skin² Saponin, known for their antioxidant and emulsifying properties, respectively.
