New Hope Announces Closure of Natural Products Expo East, Launches Newtopia Now

On Sept. 20, New Hope Network announced the closure of Natural Products Expo East. After almost 40 years in operation, the last Expo East was held from Sept. 20-23 at the Pennsylvania Convention Center in Philadelphia.

“We are enormously proud of the legacy of Expo East and are grateful that is has served as a valuable destination for the organic and natural products industry for many years,” said Carlotta Mast, the SVP and market leader for New Hope Network.

Expo East has been operating since 1985 and provided product sourcing needs for thousands of retailers, propelled emerging brands to the national stage and fostered partnerships between buyers and brands, according to New Hope.

“We thank our exhibitors, buyers, attendees, and partners for their many years of support and look forward to continuing to work together as champions of regeneration and prosperity across the natural and organic CPG community,” Mast said.

In place of Expo East, New Hope will launch Newtopia Now, a novel event format that facilitates a “more tailored and intentional approach to connection and product discovery.”

Newtopia Now will offer curated matchmaking between a diverse array of buyers, brands and partners. There will also be increased opportunities for emerging brands and new products, according to show organizers.

“The needs of the industry are changing—and the experience we provide our community must adapt to those needs,” Mast said. “Through personalized matchmaking, imaginative content, and curated product discovery, Newtopia Now provides a platform for brands, retailers and champions of conscious CPG to cultivate growth for good.”

Newtopia Now will run from Aug. 6-8, 2024 in Savannah, GA. Natural Products Expo West will continue its operations in Anaheim, CA.
